Sweet Violet Fights Cancer


Sweet violets have been eaten since ancient times. Historical references date the usage back 2,000 years. Ancient Athenians held the sweet violet in high regard for its power both to moderate anger and to cure insomnia. The Roman naturalist Pliny said its roots, if steeped in vinegar,would cure gout, and added that a garland of violets worn about the head would banish headaches and dizziness. Later the Celts mixed the flowers with goat’s milk to make a cosmetic. In the 16th century the English made a syrup of the flowers and used sweet violet as a mild laxative for children. They also employed the syrup to treat a number of adult ailments, including epilepsy, pleurisy, and jaundice.
At different times and places, folk healers have touted the plant as a cure for growths. Since about 500 B.C., the fresh leaves have been used in poultice form to treat skin cancer, and this belief in violets’ efficacy as a cancer cure unfortunately continues to this day- with virtually no scientific proof to back it up.
Ancient well-known herbalists and philosophists, including Pliny and Homer, prescribed violets as remedies. Violets continued to be used through the ages. Currently, the British Pharmocopeia, while not officially recognizing violets as a cancer cure, lists the usage with directions. These unassuming wild perennials abundantly dot the world with their violet blue small blossoms in spring. Violet tea served as a common beverage, used to soothe everything from tummy aches to more serious conditions. Violet leaves were eaten for vitamins. Leaves were candied; blossoms added color to salads. All parts of the sweet violet plant are edible.

Sweet Violet contains salicylic acid, volatile oil, mucilage, resin, sugar, an aromatic principle, flavonoids, a glucoside, saponins, an alkaloid called odoratine,rich in vitamins A and C. The flower also contains an aromatic compound called irone, and a blue pigment.
Sweet Violet plants contain large quantities of rutin, a natural form of aspirin. Sweet Violets were used in poultices and applied to skin cancer. Its aspirin-like properties make it useful for fighting inflammation. Lung ailments and cancer were treated with violets. In addition, violets helped ease headaches and dizziness.
Sweet violet flowers and leaves have a gentle expectorant and demulcent action, and they induce light sweating. They are often used as an infusion or syrup for treating coughs, chest colds, and congestion. The flowers and leaves are used in British herbal medicine to treat breast and stomach cancer. The root is a much stronger expectorant and, at higher doses, is emetic.

Sweet Violet Cancer Applications

Sweet violet has long been thought to have anticancer abilities. History tells us that a poultice made from the leaves of this flowering plant has been used to treat skin cancer since around 500 B.C. While this effect has not been proven, the flowers and leaves are still used in British herbal medicine to treat stomach and breast cancer. This can be taken as a tea with one teaspoon of the dried herb added to a cup of boiling water. It is used as a poultice for the treatment of skin-related cancers. It is still being currently studied by the scientific community.

Sweet Violet Health Benefits

Sweet violet is primarily an herb for respiratory problems. A tea made from the leaves is excellent as a soothing gargle, for sore gums, cankersores, good for inflammations, relieves pain of cancerous growths, as well as used as a poulticeto the back of the neck for headache. Violet leaves are used in puddings, jellies, and salads; flowers in salads or in candied form as a decorative garnish for desserts.

Sweet Violet Medicinal Usages

In modern times violet blossoms have been used principally as a coloring agent, as the fragrance in perfumes, and in cough syrups. Violets are used for a variety of ailments. A violet serves to ease headaches and body aches, acting as a mild sedative. More recently, it has been used to help protect against and treat HIV. Topically, it works to ease skin conditions. Drinking an infusion of tea or syrup is the current way to ingest the violets. Eating the leaves as a salad is a good way to add a regular dose. Ointments are also used.

Sweet Violet Usage

To make an ointment:
  • Stew about three dozen leaves in two oz. of warmed and softened lard.
  • Strain once the leaves have the consistency of cooked cabbage.
  • Place in a covered container.
  • Apply topically to affected areas.
  • the ointment can also be used on swollen lymph nodes to help fight general ailments.
Make violet tea:
  • With two oz. of dried violet leaves boiled in one quart of water.
  • Let stand until the water is green, about 12 hours.
  • Strain, then bring to a quick boil.
  • Refrigerate and drink a few ounces every two hours.
  • Do not keep the tea for more than a day.

Sweet Violet Dosage

Infusion:
  • Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1 teaspoonful of the herb and let infuse for 10 – 15 minutes.
  • This should be drunk three times a day.
  • Tincture: take 1 – 2 ml of the tincture three times a day.
Decoction:
  • Boil 1 tbsp. rootstock or plant parts in 1/2 cupwater.
  • Soaking for a few hours before boiling is said to strengthen the activity.
Syrup:
  • pour 1 qt. boiling water over an equal volume of compressed flowers
  • let stand for 10 hours and strain
  • Heat the resulting liquid to simmering and pour over a new batch of flowers.
  • Let stand and strain as before.
  • Repeat the procedure several more times (the more the better).
  • Heat the final liquid, let cool, and add honey until a syrupy consistency is obtained.

Broccoli Fights Cancer


Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable that belongs to the cabbage family, which also includes arugula, cauliflower, collards, bok choy, kale, mustard greens, radishes, turnips, watercress, rutabaga, and brussels sprouts.
About 2 decades ago, researchers first suggested a possible link between diets high in cruciferous vegetables (a group of plants including cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts)) and a lower risk of cancer. However, it was not until the 1990s that certain chemicals found in broccoli were identified as possible cancer-preventing compounds. In 1997, a study was published that noted broccoli sprouts had higher levels of one of these compounds than mature broccoli.
Broccoli contain a class of potent anti-carcinogens (cancer-combating agents) called isothiocyanates. These compounds block many cancer-causing agents in a wide variety of cancers. They also detoxify potential carcinogens such as environmental toxins. It’s an excellent source of fiber, vitamin C, beta-carotene and many other carotenoids and calcium. And each of these micronutrients supports overall health and helps counter cancer.
Broccoli is considered a good source of nutrients because it is rich in vitamin C, carotenoids (vitamin A-like substances), fiber, calcium, and folate. Broccoli is also a source of many substances called phytochemicals, or plant chemicals, that may have anticancer properties. One study showed that breast tumor development was significantly reduced in laboratory animals that ate sulforaphane. Other laboratory studies have shown that sulforaphane may help protect against prostate, colon, pancreas, and other types of cancer. Some studies have also suggested that the compound may help treat some types of cancer.

Health Benefits of Broccoli

For protection against many cancers and cancer-causing substances
Dr. Paul Talalay, a Professor of Pharmacology and Director of the Laboratory for Molecular Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, named his lab “Brassica,” which is the genus that includes cauliflower and broccoli. Talalay and his colleagues discovered broccoli’s cancer-fighting substance called sulforaphane. Sulforaphane helps activate the body’s immune cells called helper T-cells, and may help the liver in detoxifying potential carcinogens like cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, drugs and alcohol.
In addition, researchers at Tokyo’s Graduate School of Agriculture have discovered that sulforaphane can block the growth of melanoma, a form of skin cancer. This study was published in 1999 in the Nutrition and Cancer journal.
Similarly, a study of Singaporean women exposed to high pollution levels showed that eating a diet high in broccoli and other cruciferous veggies conferred a 30% decrease in the risk of getting lung cancer. Another study in the Netherlands showed a 49% decline in the risk of developing colorectal cancer in patients who ate these vegetables.
Overall, when scientists at the World Cancer Research Fund reviewed 206 human and 22 animal studies, they found scientific evidence that cruciferous vegetables lowered the risk of developing cancers of the oral cavity, throat, stomach, esophagus, lung, pancreas, and colon.
  • Beneficial especially for women: Broccoli contains phytonutrients, called indole and sulforaphane, which may help prevent breast cancer. These phytonutrients help block an estrogen metabolite that promotes breast cancer growth (specifically, the estrogen-sensitive type). Moreover, its folic acid content is good for pregnant women to prevent birth defects in the fetus. The large amount of calcium in broccoli may also prevent osteoporosis.
  • Antioxidants to boost the immune system: Broccoli is a unique vegetable because it contains several antioxidants, such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and glutathione, which all benefit the immune system. Some people take in glutathione in supplement form but some experts say that this may not be as effective as the natural form found in broccoli. Glutathione is said to work by helping the liver neutralize cancerous substances and pollutants, including mercury and lead.
  • For heart and cholesterol problems: Most vegetables are rich in fiber and thus helps reduce blood cholesterol levels. Fiber also helps regulate bowel movement and is said to “cleanse” the intestines. In addition to fiber, broccoli has a high Vitamin C and potassium content, which helps in normal heart function.
  • For weight loss: Considered a low calorie food, broccoli is an ideal vegetable for those on a diet. Each cup of steamed broccoli contains only 46 calories. The high fiber content of its stem (or spears) makes one feel fuller. For adults and children on a weight-loss program, steamed broccoli spears can be a healthy snack.
Aside from the health benefits mentioned, eating broccoli has been linked to the prevention and control of diseases, like Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and various cancers.

Broccoli Precaution

Broccoli are generally safe to eat. Since broccoli is high in fiber, eating large amounts of it may cause gas. High-fiber foods should be reduced or avoided in people with diarrhea and some other colon problems. This can be minimized by simply adding garlic or ginger on your broccoli, thereby also getting the health benefits of both garlic and ginger.
For those individuals with low thyroid function (called hypothyroidism), you should avoid eating large amounts of cruciferous vegetables, because this can depress the function of the thyroid gland. However, those with high thyroid function (called hyperthyroidism) might benefit from eating broccoli.
Raw broccoli may be more likely to cause irritation, especially in those with certain bowel conditions. Relying on this type of diet alone and avoiding or delaying conventional medical care for cancer may have serious health consequences.

Broccoli Preparation

Broccoli can be eaten raw or cooked in a variety of ways. It can be purchased fresh or frozen in most grocery and organic food stores. Broccoli retains the most nutrients when eaten raw. Cooking reduces some of the benefits of broccoli because the heating process seems to destroy some anti-cancer compounds.

How to Eat Broccoli

  • To get the most benefit, you need to choose the freshest broccoli. All parts of the vegetable, including the leaf, the flower (florets) and the stem are healthy, although the whitish stem does not contain vitamin C.
  • Try steaming the vegetable instead of boiling it. Place the broccoli in a steamer over boiling water for 5 to 7 minutes. The appearance of cooked broccoli should still be bright green in color. A pale and soggy broccoli means that it has been overcooked.
  • Another technique is to roast broccoli. You may place a little oil and season with calamansi, vinegar or cheese.
Research shows that the more cooking and processing done on vegetables, the lesser will be the health benefits, in terms of amount of active phytonutrients. This is true for most foods that grow naturally. That is why it is best to cook vegetables lightly. According to the food pyramid, a healthy diet should consist of around 2 cups of assorted vegetables each day. Near the top of list should be your broccoli and cabbage, which can be eaten several times in a week.
A balanced diet that includes 5 or more servings a day of fruits and vegetables along with foods from a variety of other plant sources such as nuts, seeds, whole grain cereals, and beans is likely to be more healthful than eating large amounts of one food.

Apricot Seeds Fights Cancer


Apricot seeds, like most nuts and seeds are very nutritious. Among the nutrients they contain is one called amygdalin, which is also known as vitamin B17. This attacks cancer cells, and thus can help prevent cancer from breaking out in our bodies.
In 1952, a biochemist named Dr. Ernst Krebb, Jr. in San Francisco decided that cancer was a metabolic reaction to a poor diet, and a missing nutrient from modern man’s diet could be the key to overcoming cancer. His research led to a compound found in over 1200 edible plants throughout nature. That compound is amagdylin.
Amagdylin is found with the highest concentration and necessary enzymes in apricot seeds. A primitive tribe, the Hunzas, were known to consume large amounts of apricot seed kernels. The hard pit had to be broken to get into the soft kernels. There was no incidence of cancer with them at all, ever. And they had long, healthy life spans. Laetrile was created by simply extracting amagdylin from the soft apricot kernels, purifying it and putting it into a concentrated form.
Amagdylin is a nitrioloside. As a nitrioloside, amagdylin resembled the B complex structures, so Dr. Krebb called it B17 since by that time 16 types of B vitamins had been isolated.
Dr. Krebb injected himself with laetrile to ensure there would be no toxic side effects. He conducted further lab animal and culture experiments to conclude that laetrile would be effective in the treatment of cancer. By the way, the FDA standard for drug safety is known as LD 50, LD stands for lethal dose, and the 50 is the percentage threshold of lab animals poisoned to death by the drug tested. As long as the percentage killed is under 50%, FDA will approve it.
Amagdylin contains four substances. Two are glucose; one is benzaldyhide, and one is cyanide.Yes, cyanide and benzaldyhide are poisons if they are released or freed as pure molecules and not bound within other molecular formations. Many foods containing cyanide are safe because the cyanide remains bound and locked as part of another molecule and therefore cannot cause harm.
There is even an enzyme in normal cells to catch any free cyanide molecules and to render them harmless by combining them with sulfur. That enzyme is rhodanese, which catalyzes the reaction and binds any free cyanide to sulfur. By binding the cyanide to sulfur, it is converted to a cyanate which is a neutral substance. Then it is easily passed through the urine with no harm to the normal cells.
But cancer cells are not normal. They contain an enzyme that other cells do not share, beta-glucosidase. This enzyme, virtually exclusive to cancer cells, is considered the “unlocking enzyme” for amagdylin molecules. It releases both the benzaldyhide and the cyanide, creating a toxic synergy beyond their uncombined sum. This is what the cancer cell’s beta-glucosidase enzyme does to self destruct cancer cells.
Amagdylin or laetrile in conjunction with the protective enzymes in healthy cells and the unlocking enzymes in cancer cells is thus able to destroy cancer cells without jeopardizing healthy cells. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, kills a lot of other cells and diminishes one’s immune system while killing an undetermined amount of cancer cells.
Those cancer cells tend to return elsewhere because the patient’s general health was reduced from the pervasive chemo toxins. The cancer industry has declared the bench mark for curing cancer as being cancer free for 5 years. It’s estimated that of those who undergo the AMA big three for curing cancer, surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, no more than 3% make the 5 year cancer free mark.
But for someone with cancer, it takes a considerable amount of daily B17 consumption to enable the amagdylin to reach the cancer cells with beta-glucosidase. That’s because some of the amagdylin molecules will be neutralized by the normal cells containing rhodanese.
Many practitioners who use laetrile have an 85% cure rate among cancer victims who did not undergo much of the standard cut, burn, and poison that is main-stream – while the cure rate for those who come to laetrile therapy as a last resort after all that conventional medicine could only have a 15% recovery rate. There is a clinic in Mexico that claims a 100 percent cure rate!
A young Brooklyn man, Jason Vale, was imprisoned because he refused to stop telling others on TV and in lectures how he cured himself of cancer using those nasty apricot pit kernels. Jason is a more recent public example of the Medical Mafia’s grip on the legal system regarding B17. Laetrile, which is non toxic, was banned by the FDA in 1971.
Shortly after the 1971 laetrile ban, a practicing physician in San Francisco, Dr. John Richardson, who had been using laetrile successfully on cancer patients, came to his friend G. Edward Griffin, a published investigative journalist, and asked Griffin if he could write up something to help him and others continue using laetrile on their cancer patients.
G. Edward Griffin’s research evolved into his groundbreaking book, World Without Cancer. This book not only explained laetrile and chronicled several cancer cures, but Griffin’s investigative nose led him down the rabbit hole and into the underbelly of the cancer industry’s efforts at keeping alternative cancer cures from the light of day. That’s how he discovered that the Sloane-Kettering Cancer Institute had buried documentation from scientists’ research, which proved laetrile was “highly effective” at curing cancer.
Griffin received those documents himself from a Dr. Ralph Moss, who had been told to cover up that evidence and claim that laetrile was worthless. He refused and left his position as PR manager with Sloane-Kettering. Since that time in 1977, Dr. Ralph Moss has gone on to write or edit several books on cancer cure options. It’s always encouraging to see an insider come out! Someone else filled Dr. Moss’s vacant position and lied the lies about laetrile that filled the medical journals.
Lately, the most prestigious New England Journal of Medicine dropped its standard of not allowing articles contributed to the journal from anyone who was receiving money from Big Pharma, as long as it’s less than 10 grand annually.

The Power of B17

The body is an incredible machine, capable of healing itself when given the right fuel. In fact, most cancers develop when the body is deprived of the nutrients it needs and given other foods or substances that can actually be very difficult for the body to break down and digest. Examples of these include refined sugar, flour, and additives. But when the body is provided with the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it requires, it has the amazing capability to heal itself – even from cancer. When it comes to recovering from cancer, the body requires a potent nutrient that will repair and heighten the immune system. This is where vitamin B17 comes into play.
Vitamin B17 is the newest member of the vitamin B complex. It joins vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12. These vitamins are mainly responsible for growth and development as well as a number of other bodily functions that involve various systems and red blood cells. Apricot Seeds/Laetrile Treatment

There are many success stories from people using just laetrile or apricot pit seeds. The usual recommendation for prevention is around 5 to 7 over the course of a day. For actual cancer cases use 2 to 3 times that. Some say one kernel for every 10 lbs of body weight. For maintenance after a cure, go back to 5 to 7 per day.
Some laetrile therapists have patients use vitamin B15 tablets and digestive enzymes such as papaya’s papain and pineapple’s bromalene. Too many apricot pit kernels can create nausea or dizziness. There are no recorded deaths or disabilities from the apricot seeds or laetrile. Although some success has been recorded with patients undergoing conventional therapy and using laetrile, it’s not recommended. Eventually most of those who combine the two get off the chemo or die anyway.
There are many practitioners and writers who recommend you combine other alternative cancer therapies while taking laetrile or using the apricot pits – especially if you go for it alone at home.

The Importance of Apricot Seeds

Diseases and illnesses—especially cancer—have an acidic nature. Apricot seeds help lower blood acidity. Malignant tumors have a low pH and are acidic, so eating apricot seeds—which work to raise the pH of the body—will help to slow down the spread of the cancer.
Apricot seeds destroy cancerous cells. They contain cyanide, which is locked away until it encounters a cancer cell. When people with cancer eat apricot seeds, the cyanide works to destroy some of the cancerous cells in their bodies. Due to the nature of B17’s immune-boosting powers, apricot seeds have become an excellent and affordable way to defend against cancer. Ideally, your appropriate daily dosage depends on your body weight – 1 seed per 20 pounds. It is suggested you begin by eating 1 seed per day and work your way up. Apricot seeds tend to be rather bitter, but you can make them a little tastier by chopping them up and mixing the seeds with honey or applesauce.

Apricot Seeds Procedure Intake

The Apricot Seeds should be chewed, or ground and sprinkled on food or in fruit juice, since the kernels vary in size it is best to estimate what 7 to 10 grams actually is, as a rough guide one dessert spoon is 7 grams and a heaped dessertspoon is 10 grams.
